Transfer with a child seat from Málaga Airport
Child and booster seats are provided free of charge on every transfer. Just request them when you book and mention the ages, and the driver arrives with the seats already fitted.
What Spanish law requires
In Spain, children up to 135 cm in height must travel in an approved child restraint system suited to their size and weight, under the Reglamento General de Circulación. It is recommended to keep using a booster up to around 150 cm, even once the seatbelt alone becomes legally permitted, so it fits properly across the body.
Which seat for which child
Infant carriers (rear-facing) suit newborns and babies up to roughly 15 months. Convertible child seats cover toddlers from about 1 to 4 years old. Booster seats with a backrest are used from around 4 years old until the child reaches 135 cm. The right one is chosen based on the ages given when booking.
How to request it
Mention the number and ages of the children when booking by WhatsApp. The seats are installed and checked before pickup, at no extra cost, so there is nothing to set up on arrival.
For families arriving by flight
There is no need to bring a car seat from home or check it in as luggage; one will already be fitted in the vehicle. Families who prefer to use their own seat are also welcome to bring it, and it fits in the boot alongside the rest of the luggage.
How much does the child seat cost?
Nothing, child seats and booster seats are included free of charge, you only pay the price of the transfer.
What ages do you cover?
From newborns to around 10-12 years old, using an infant carrier, a convertible seat or a booster depending on the age and height given at booking.
Can I bring my own child seat instead?
Yes, you are welcome to use your own, it travels in the boot with the rest of the luggage at no extra charge.
How many child seats can you fit in one vehicle?
A car can carry two child seats along with the parents, and larger families are moved to the 8-seat minivan, which fits more.
Is the child seat also available for the return transfer to the airport?
Yes, just mention the ages again when booking the return transfer and the same free seats are provided.
