My Alhambra ticket has a fixed time slot. How much margin should I allow after landing in Málaga?
Alhambra tickets come with an assigned time slot for the Nasrid Palaces, so it pays to build in a cushion. Add up collecting your bags (the driver waits up to 60 minutes after landing at no charge), the drive time shown above (an estimate, depending on traffic) and the last stretch to the entrance, and allow extra time if you are travelling with children. If it looks tight, a later slot or the next morning is safer. Message us your landing time and your ticket time on WhatsApp and we will go through it with you.
Can the car get into the Albaicín and the narrow streets of Granada's old town?
Not always. The Albaicín, Sacromonte, the Realejo and much of the historic centre are restricted-access zones, controlled by cameras and bollards that only let residents and authorised vehicles through, and many streets are too narrow for a car anyway. If your accommodation is inside, the driver drops you at the nearest point the car can reach and you walk the last stretch, which is worth knowing before you arrive with suitcases and small children. We are a family with big suitcases: is a private transfer to Granada worth it compared with the bus?
The direct bus from the airport takes just over 2 hours, runs at fixed times and ends at Granada bus station on Avenida Juan Pablo II, north of the centre, so you still need a taxi or city bus to your accommodation, with suitcases and children in tow. The transfer leaves when you land and takes you to your address, or the nearest point if it is in a restricted zone. The price is per vehicle, not per person, so a family shares one fare, and child seats are free on request.
Does the Granada fare also cover Sierra Nevada or elsewhere in the province?
No, this price is for Granada city. A destination outside the city, such as Sierra Nevada, is not part of this fare; send us the address on WhatsApp and we will confirm availability and price before you book.
